Good job

I liked how you started it off... great editing and action that really matched the music.
Some sections of your movie looked very close in quality to xiao xiao's animations... which should be applauded.
Your stick work is great... I started off with sticks too... now all you need to do is apply all your physics/timing knowledge into full bodies animations = )

Good luck.

why hasn't anybody noticed?

Anybody who has used the program D-Player will know what I'm talking about, and the author of this piece will cringe when he realises that he's been BUSTED!! But the animation... the dancing at least was not the awesome choreogphy and 3d-tweening of this author. He simply traced it from the dance sequences that you can download and playback (at any viewing angle) in the program D-Player.

But cheating aside, you still obviously spent HEAPS of time tracing it so I give you credit for that. And it still did look pretty.

Alot of people are complaining about the choice of songs... but I mean... I guess you didn't have a huge assortment of dancing routines to trace so you were kinda limited in that area weren't you?

The whole "Music is the universal language" concept was a good idea but as many people have pointed out...it was poorly executed. It was also inconsistent with the choice of songs. Poor art direction.

Look, in the end I wouldn't have cared so much that you traced it, but you should've made sure that the movie theme and story being told was absolutely spot-on. Unfortunately this wasn't the case. It seemed too much like all you were doing was having a blast tracing all these dancing moves and then at the end you decided you wanted to add some meaning behind it all and thought hey! Music is a universal language!

5 points for the effort though.

you've mastered it!!

I remember a while ago, playing and reviewing your other Raiden IIS - Part A title. Saying how the 'purple' weapon wasn't like it was in the arcades but you compensated well. Your reply was that it was SHOCKINGLY DIFFICULT (as I could imagine) to program such a weapon... now just some months down the track HERE YOU ARE!!!!

From a creative point of view... it's not original.. but that wasn't the point here... it was merely the achievement of something remarkable in terms of programming! I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU DID IT!!

Fantastic stuff!

P.S. Only thing is mayb some of the bg's were a lil 'rushed' and that it was a bit too easy.
Too bad you're not making an 'Ikaruga' game for flash... you heard of that game b4? hahaah

Go0gley responds:

Thanks a lot. ^ ^ The plasma script took me one week of experiment and glitch-fixing, and I guess it payed off at the end. Lol memories. =D

About the backgrounds, I can make them as beautiful as I want, but the limitation is the demand on CPU. Flash overreacts to intensive graphics (you must've experienced this - Takamori legend!) and generally slows down the game, so I optimised them.

As you realised, I guess I've mastered my 2D shoot-em-up skills (finally!). Next game I'll do might be rpg, action, puzzle... well I don't know yet!

good ol shit

haha i was so shocked when i read that this was a remake of the classic kung fu game...cuz i loved it so much! hahah in fact when i was playin some flash fighting games a few months ago, i was thinking...man...some1 needs to make a flash version of kung fu! haha
the AI isn't 100% as the original..but u can't really lose pnts for that cuz i mean...they're nintendo and u can't mimic their game physics exactly.
the game was damn hard...partly cuz i'm shit (i clocked nintendo version tho) but its cool anyway
i liked the addition of a super...nice!...wot button do u press? NR1? wtf is that?
I like ur tutorial, intro etc...
I understand that you were going for the same look as the old nintendo game, but me, i'm not a big fan of sprite movies, I always want the graphics to be improved. So, i would've liked to see these graphics improved alot, like..bring the game into the 21st century.
anyway..fantastic stuff...im realli glad you made it
gotta show all my friends! ahha

great game but needs improvement

right now im on lvl 24 and writing this review while watching my auto-defense do my work for me = )
most ppl have already mentioned that its too easy but also addictive and fun....i'll discuss the things that would make this even better!

- the start needs more enemies. when u said it started off slow...i didn't know u meant kill 1 person every 5 secs...that's just shocking. almost made me quit the game.

- cursor needs to b diff color cuz when u're trying to shoot those guys on the canons u can't see where ur cursor is

- u shud b able to upgrade ur shooting power...like...u know..have a more powerful gun so u dun have to press 20 times just to kill the tank. i dun wanna stuff up my new mouse as i did my old 1 from clicking too much = )

- u should b able to press 'R' on ur keyboard to reload

- the tanks shud shoot while driving up to ur castle thing, not only when they reach within a close distance

- have planes come in and attack ur base as well

- ability to plant land mines, u'll have to buy them of course, and keep re-planting them as they get used up (shud b used in conjuction with the enemy planes)

otherwise..great game
